Smith's Candies
Smith's Candies is the local sweet shop. *grin* It is located on Lincoln Ave. [Rt. 422] just west of the redlight at College St. [Rt.501]. This is where I did my Valentine's Day and Easter shopping. I believe that you would have to drive for quite a while to find a better candy shop, if one exists. In the background you can plainly see the Myerstown water tank.
The Myerstown Pond & Park
Located on the corner of Richland Ave. and College St. [Rt. 501] the pond is one of my favorite places to hang-out in town. On the far side of the park are a couple of tennis courts, basketball courts, and the town pool. This is also the location of the Myerstown fair.

When I was younger, My dad would take me to the pond to fish. I was never any good at it. Mostly, I just drowned worms. This photo makes it look a little bigger than it is, I think. I believe they also build some additional sidewalks too.

Palos Italian Restaurant
Palos is on Lincoln Ave. [Rt. 422] just west of the redlight at College St. [Rt. 501]. I have not eaten here very much and I am not sure why. Their food is good. Of course, I still think their cheesesteak tastes more like a meatball sandwitch. It just goes to show that you cannot rely on just ONE sause. Perhaps they have figured that out by now.
The Country Fair
This is, in my opinion, the nicest restaurant in town. This is where I take my parents out to eat on their respective birthday's and on most other occasions. It is located about a half mile east of town on Rt. 422. They have the best crabcakes and grilled chicken breasts in the area.
Kum Esse Diner
It is located right on the redlight at College St. [Rt. 501] and Lincoln Ave. [Rt. 422]. I eat here every now and then. What can I say......it's a diner. I think you can sum up most of the reasons to eat here in just two words: "Strawberry Pie" It is excellent. Good stuff.
DutchWay
Dutchway is about a mile east of town on Rt. 422. Well, it use to be here. I think it may have moved to a new location. It is a pretty good store. On Thursday and Friday evenings it gets insane in there with everybody trying to buy a couple weeks worth of groceries at the same time.

These are just some shots of the town taken from a far. The pic on the top was taken about half a mile outside of town. Actually, now there is a road where I was standing when I took that shot. They made Richland Ave and Weavertown Rdcome to an intersection for the asphalt shingle plant that was built in the late 90's. The pic on the bottom was taken about 6 miles south of town on a ridge. Trust me, there IS a town underneath the canopy of green leaves.
